MES & DAK “Digital Transformation in Africa” conference

Suzanne Gujadhur Bell, managing director of International Proximity, was a speaker on the Mauritian panel at the MES & DAK “Digital Transformation in Africa” conference in Frankfurt on 3rd September 2018. The conference was aimed at the important mid-size company sector in Germany and showcased the opportunities that Africa affords these companies in the areas of entrepreneurship, industrialisation and digitalisation. In turn, Africa can benefit greatly from the contribution that such mid-size German companies, many of which are leaders in engineering and science, can provide to the continent. Following an exposition of the benefits of the Mauritius International Financial Centre by Faraz Rojid of the Mauritius Economic Development Board, Suzanne Gujadhur Bell spoke about the human resources advantage that Mauritius enjoys, the increasing recognition of the jurisdiction as the main business platform for Africa, the structuring opportunities and the commercial benefits of operating from Mauritius. The conference was a useful opportunity to tell the Mauritian story, remind the audience of the stability and strong regulatory framework on which the success of the Mauritius IFC is based and relay the commercial opportunities of using Mauritius.
